On October 20, 2021 Stellar’s son, Standing Ovation (out of VPrSt Ricola DTA) was the first pony/small horse stallion to attend and successfully complete the North American Stallion Sport Test in its new format at Hilltop Farm! Stanley did a fantastic job with wonderful comments from attendees and his riders, and fulfilled his performance requirements to be fully approved and lifetime licensed for breeding with both Westfalen and Weser Ems! Congratulations to owner Marcy Segel and rider Carlolyn Jette!
And, we are so excited to announce that Stellar has made history for the Haflinger breed once again by achieving his fifth and final star in the AWSSR (American Warmblood Society & Sporthorse Registry) Five-Star Recognition Program! Out of 250+ approved AWSSR stallions, only a few have four stars, and Stellar may be the first to have attained all five stars! Per the AWSSR website: The 5 Star program documents outstanding achievements of horses in both athletic and reproductive areas.
First star=superior inspection score of 75% or better (sporthorse/Warmblood registry, not Haflinger breed registry)
Second star=superior performance in the upper levels of sport: FEI, dressage, show jumping, eventing (includes stallion testing)
Third Star=3-5 offspring inspection scores 75% or higher (Warmblood/sporthorse inspection)
Fourth Star=placing in a National Championship
Fifth Star=offspring placing in a National Championship
Thank you Roxy (Ressonance of New Horizons owned by Shelby Blades in Alaska) and Stanley for helping “dad” attain his final star and hit another landmark!
