We are so excited to welcome our most recent addition to our select mare herd–Ricola’s maternal sister, Regina DTA! Gina stands 15 hands tall and is a gorgeous, modern mare with a beautiful head, large kind eye, and long forearm with clean bone. Her pure white mane and tail against her red chestnut coat are striking and turn heads wherever she goes!

Gina’s pedigree is loaded with some of the top Austrian and Dutch lines in the Haflinger breed. Her dam, Ricarda II GF, is an AHR silver classified mare out of Ranka (a full sister to the dam of Rivella TOF)–one of the strongest Austrian mare lines in the Haflinger breed–and by the great broodmare sire, Nabucco. Ranka is by another great broodmare sire, Andrit. Regina’s sire, Wizard IEF, is an athletic, handsome stallion who brings new Dutch lines to our breeding program. He is by the Dutch imported stallion Willo van het Spick (by Wempire), who we have long admired, and by the Austrian imported mare Konstanze (who goes back to liz. Afghan).

At the 2024 Westfalen inspection, Regina DTA, at fifteen years of age, was awarded Premium and Champion mare with an overall score of 8.0 out of eight Warmblood, Thoroughbred, Welsh and Haflinger mares, and wowed everyone with her powerful, uphill gaits and huge trot! Comments from inspectors included balanced, uphill canter, push from behind and good substance. In 2025 Regina had a gorgeous filly for us by Stellar that was everything we were hoping she would be! Rafiki New Horizons was refined and athletic, with excellent conformation, a beautiful head, and a lot of sass!
