Raven NTF

Born: 3.3.93

14.3 3/4H

Sire: Wall Street NTF (Winterstein)

Dam: Ramblin Rose NTF

Out of the same mare line as Rosie, Raven came to live with us in the summer 2005 and is one of the gentlest and sweetest horses that we have ever had the pleasure of owning! At almost 15H, Raven combines size and substance with clean bones, long legs, excellent hindquarters (she has a fantastic hip length and angle), prominent withers, good feet and a kind and gentle temperament. These traits seem to consistently pass on to her foals–especially her wonderful temperament!

Raven has not been inspected due to an injury that she sustained before she came to live with us. (Her injury in no way affects her gaits or movement.)

Raven is an experienced driving mare who is traffic safe and has extensive driving experience on the roads. She is currently doing well training under saddle. We don’t advertise horses as “bomb-proof” , “baby-sitters”, or child-safe, but if we did, Raven would fit this bill perfectly! She would make a wonderful companion for someone older looking for a quiet, safe horse to trail ride or drive, or for a family with young children looking for a safe, reliable mount that the kids could learn to groom, care for and do light riding (walking, trotting). Raven will stand for hours–untied–while you groom and fuss with her! She has the most gentle, quiet, sweet personality out of any horse we have ever encountered, and loves attention and affection. (She would not be appropriate for someone looking for a horse to show or do hard riding–cantering, etc.)

With her excellent bloodlines combining the best that Austria and Holland have to offer, Raven is an outstanding broodmare that would be a wonderful addition to add to one’s breeding program. She consistently throws tall, modern, pleasure-type Haflingers with outstanding personalities, conformation and movement. Many of Raven’s offspring have gone on to be great producers themselves. Her last filly, Ravenna of Lilac Farms, (out of Archimedes van Seadrift, an Amsterdam/Amadeus son/grandson) is turning into a beauty. Venna (now known as Reba) has a long neck, long legs, and excellent conformation and color, and, of course, Raven’s wonderful personality! Her current owner just learned how to drive when Reba was being trained, and she has driven Reba as a two-year-old on the roads, in town, etc. with no problems whatsoever!

We will be putting more miles on Raven under saddle trail-riding and driving this spring. Raven is for sale to an approved home only. We would also consider offering Raven for a “lifetime lease” to a good home looking for an exceptionally quiet, sweet, and gentle mare. Contact us for more information on price and terms. Serious inquiries only please.
