JUNE 2016 NEWS UPDATE: RADIANCE OF NEW HORIZON’S DRESSAGE DEBUT WITH OWNER TORI MORRISSEY WAS A GREAT SUCCESS! Chela and Tori attended their very first dressage show at the USDF Dressage at Waterloo June Show, competing at intro level and bringing home two first place ribbons and a high score of 72%!

On August 30, 2015, we presented Chela, her siblings, and her dam to RPSI for inspection. Not only did Chela get entered into the top mare book, but she was awarded Premium status, the highest status a mare can achieve! The inspector commented that Chela was really good looking, of a high caliber and very typey, with a pretty, feminine face, great long lines, solid in bone and correct/well put together, had a correct walk with good energy and a good stride, that she goes through the body nicely, had a long shoulder in the right position, was very nicely uphill in trot and showed swing and stayed uphill, and that she fit the program of the modern Haflinger, showing the caliber that the Haflinger should have and had the gaits they want to see.

She did it!! We always new this mare was extra special! On July 30, 2015, Chela not only achieved GOLD status at the AHR inspection, she was also co-champion, and at 82 points, now is tied for the second highest scoring horse in North America in the history of the AHR inspection and classification program! We are so excited that Chela is now owned by a young dressage rider who will work towards Grand Prix with her, and she is training with Stellar’s trainer, Tracy Rowe, so we can follow her progress! And, we will be able to breed her to our multi champion stallion, Stellar TVR, someday for an amazing dressage and breeding prospect to carry on this amazing mare line!

Chela was lightly started under saddle in the fall of her three year old year by Kelsie Rumisek. She is pictured in the top photos with about 25 days or less under saddle. The bottom photos were taken after she had only been ridden a few times. We are very excited to see what the future holds for this talented mare and rider, as Chela is demonstrating that she has the same spectacular movement under saddle as she does at liberty! We are equally excited to breed her to our Champion stallion, Stellar TVR, in the future!

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHELA FOR WINNING FIRST PLACE PLEASURE YEARLING FILLY IN A VERY COMPETITIVE AND LARGE CLASS AT THE 2012 AHR NATIONAL FUTURITY!

This beautiful, exquisite and ultra-refined filly is sure to follow in the footsteps of her fabulous siblings! With the characteristic refinement, elegance, and type that this cross has consistently thrown, our ELITE mare, one of the top producing broodmares in North America, has once again presented us with a spectacular filly out of Arno, the only SUPREME stallion in AHR history! Radiance (“Chela”) is also a fantastic mover with a powerful, forward, floating trot, and has an amazingly sweet temperament, just like her dam!

Chela is a full sibling to the great performance silver classified mares Reahna of Lilac Farms and Romantique of Lilac Farms, and to GOLD classified Rosina of New Horizons, the 2012 Dressage at Devon Grand Champion Haflinger, (and Arturo of New Horizons, who sold to Mexico as a yearling as a dressage prospect who was already over 60 inches tall in the spring of his two-year-old year), all multiple winners on-the-line time and time again. This filly is destined to be a champion! “Chela” is @60 inches as a coming three-year-old, and we expect her to mature to 15H plus. (All of her full siblings have matured between 14.3 1/2H-15.1+H.)

Chela has excellent conformation with long refined legs, a beautiful refined head and gorgeous eye, a long, beautifully arched neck, and an exceptionally sweet and loving temperament! She is also a fantastic mover, as you can see from the AWS photos! We look forward to this filly’s future as a performance horse!
